Step-by-step, beginner-friendly tutorial on creating customized text links
Hello everyone (all three of you! :p ) Since I've been using fancy BBCode to link to LarkinorGuide and my characters' profiles and to LarkinorGuide in the forums, I figured I would show anyone who's interested in fancy-fying their posts how to turn any word or sentence into a link.

First,
go to the page that you want to link. Find your browser's address bar (usually at the top) and copy its URL (address). As an example, let's use LarkinorGuide's article on [url=
http://larkinorguide.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?act=one&iid=392
]Extra Houseparts(open me!)
/url] When viewing the article, your address bar should display the following:
http://larkinorguide.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?act=one&iid=42
   - This is what you want to copy.

Second,
now that you have your URL copied, go ahead and prepare your message. When you decide what you want your link to appear as, you'll be using the following template: (make sure you remove the % symbol after 'url'!)

[url%=
http://www.larkinor.com
]Whatever you want to say
/url]

Without the % symbol, the above text will display as the following:

[url=
http://www.larkinor.com
]Whatever you want to say
/url]

Third,
you're ready to substitute the placeholder (
http://www.larkinor.com)
with your own url; like I like the LarkinorGuide article on Extra Houseparts, you should have a template identical to mine below:
(again, remember to remove the % symbol!)

[url%=
http://larkinorguide.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?act=one&iid=392
]Extra Housepart! :)
/url]

If you've followed my tutorial successfully, this will produce the following:

[url=
http://larkinorguide.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?act=one&iid=392
]Extra Housepart! :)
/url]

Now, you're ready to post with
style!
Thank you for this information Tyler, :)
I didn't know this fancy style.
