a few months ago, i heard of triple 678 traps.  since then, i've heard rumours of higher ones.

The maximum strength of your trap is ultimately determined by your carrying capacity. The higher your carrying capacity, the more money you can bring to the fort, and hence higher trap you can purchase. I believe that currently the highest combined strength and persistence is about 165, add in the antiballast and perhaps some antigrav things, and the highest trap currently is as jason said, 678, probably 3 of em.

 site (!), and found that I can now make level 669 traps.  Of course, (and I do realize I'm tempting fate with the following statement) someone will have to bust up one of my other traps first, the highest of which is a 651.
