If you don't want to play the whole tournament, you can register as an "alternate" to be called on by the Team Captain if one of the team can't play a match.
At present ~18 players have signed up so there
will
be more than one event. Sign up by Friday to be considered for the first one - Team-Europe v Team-NorthAmerica.

This is a team event, with every end of every match affecting the eventual outcome.

The 1st Invitational Continental Cup of Curling is underway.
Team-Europe vs Team-NorthAmerica, both of whom have identical total ratings of 1422.

When a few more players from Europe sign up it should be possible to have a second event - hopefully soon.

If you sign up, you will be considered by the four current Team Captains to play as an "alternate", if a team member is unable to play.
The Continental Cup of Curling is moving towards its Grand Finale next weekend, with a few 6-end Skins games still to ne played before then.
Good luck to Team Europe & Team North-America.
The Continental Cup is reaching what promises to be an exciting conclusion this weekend. The current standings are at
http://www.CCofC.eu

Europe have a significant lead in Cup1, and a narrow lead in Cup2. With 188 points still to be won in each tournament, it really is all to play for. The 88 bonus points are awarded to the team with the higher count over the 10 skins games – the six already played, plus the four in the Grand Finale. In Cup1 Europe have a lead of 6 skins. In Cup 2 North America has a lead of 18…

The fun starts in Room 5 at 17.55GMT on Sunday in Room 5:
10.55 in British Columbia
11.55 in Saskatchewan
12.55 in Winnipeg
14.25 in Newfoundland-Labrador
18.55 in Scotland and Ireland
19.55 in Norway, Germany and Austria.

Good Luck to both Teams, and the eight Finalists.

The Continental Cups (1 & 2) were won by Team-Europe. North America were second....
2010?! This tournament is 5 years old! It is absolutely time for another one! Whose in? Come on North America! We have to take back the cup!
I don't have the website anymore, but I'll see if I can dredge up the rules and the scoring system. There were 8 players per team, and it started off with singles matches then skins with the points awarded gradually increasing until the final two skins matches which decided the whole thing. The other thing I did was try and get two evenly matched teams to maintain interest.
