Two rooms would be my guess. Most of the movements just didn't "fit right" with what should have been a mirror image.

clearly 2 rooms . . . and it's not a new trick

the Marx brothers used it in a film (duck soup, maybe?) in the 1930's....i'm sure youtube will have that clip somewhere
